Pleasant Grove Middle School9

I was a student at this school since 2011. I'm moving on to high school now but I can still remember all the pros and cons this school had. I had a wonderful time at this school since I first arrived until the day I left. In sixth grade you will often have a very heavy backpack and have to carry around things that were not very necessary, such as notebooks we only used once a month on random days etc. the older students treat the younger ones fairly and most students are quite nice. In all 3 years I have had some teachers that don't teach very well or give out more packets than hands-on work. 8th grade year is by far the best, yet the hardest, year, and you feel a great sense of accomplishment when your done. Over all I loved this school! I would give a 4 star on teaching though. I would reccomend less packets and a little more one-on-one and hands-in work.

Just relocated here and have an 8th grade boy at this school. LOVE it!!! The kids are all so friendly and welcoming and they have a strong "anti-bully" rule at the school. The principal and vice principal are very much involved in all aspects of the school. This is the first year that my son has been in public school and it has been a wonderful experience. LOVE all the teachers! Very very happy here and would recommend to anyone!

My second child just finished 8th grade at Pleasant Grove. It is a wonderful school from the top down. The administration responds to concerns quickly and efficiently and the teachers are talented and trained. There are programs for remediation and for those that exce tool. Just a great school overall.

Pleasant Grove is a wonderful school. My 3rd child will enter it in the fall. The principal and vice principal are super and encourage the kids to excel. The teachers are skilled, caring and helpful. Best middle school in the area!!!

Since moving here from So. CA, we startled to find out that my daughter had to attend "Middle School" in the 6th grade. That said, our experience with Julie, Carol and Mr. Scroggins in staff has been excellent, very kind, helpful and understanding. The segregation of 6th graders in rooms & teachers also helped the qualms. My daughter is very happy in this marvelous school. Keep up the FAB work Pleasant Grove...Go PUMAS!!! Thank you JULIE!!!

I have been very happy with Pleasant Grove Middle School. The principal, Dave Scroggins, loves his job, is committed to the students' learning and well-being, and they respond in kind. I was impressed by the positivity and competence of all of the teachers my daughter had in 6th and 7th grades. The school has a vibrant music program -- a standout in this day of budget cuts. Also, the teachers try to present the curriculum in a creative way, so that even "boring" subjects like math and history are not so dull. My only complaint is that due to the size of the student body, the staff does not see the daily bullying and harassment that goes on, starting in 7th grade. I know this type of behavior occurs at this age, but the experience reduces my child's desire to go to school, which impacts her ability to focus and learn.

Pleasant Grove is a good school and the teachers are good. The 8th grade excellerated class is one that I would not recommend. The class is not difficult but I have not learned anything in it. You will not get much homework except in Math. Like every school we have had to have the police come, and there have been some things going on but other than that it is good. It is practically new and the campus is beautiful around wet-lands. The rest of Rescue though is sadly not that nice. I would recommend this school to anyone.

As I read through the reviews, there seems to be a pattern. Either You love Pleasent Grove or you hate it, no middle ground. We personally very much love the school and it's staff. Although our interaction with the school's administrative staff has been limited, we have found the teachers very committed and nurturing. If parents are involving themselves with their child's education beyond just opening up their report cards, then they will find Pleasent Grove to be a wonderful middle school. There is a reason it continuously ranks academically in the top 5 schools in the district.

I've been to a lot of school in my past, and I've moved a lot too. I love the Princible, and the vice princible. I'm starting my second year here, I've never liked school since I started it, never tried. Since I started going to this school, I've learned to love school, and I'm trying. The teachers are nice, the people that run the office are nice, and I think parents should send their kids to Blue Oak Elementary if they think this school is BAD.

This school is an abomination of education. The principal and vice principal are very friendly and have openly shown it on the student run newspaper. I happen to be concerned about the fights and sexual harrasment cases!

Our school may not have the best extracurriculars or parent involvement. But our principal leadership is outstanding. We all love Mr. Briggs and Mr. Paturel. Our school is very nice and new and safe. All of us students love Pleasant Grove.
